Lovely bedroom with huge bed and beautiful bathroom. Well kitted out. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff.

The TV in bedroom could do with up grading.

Original features in the main entrance and staircase are fantastic. Breakfast was really good and the young lad on reception checking us in was really welcoming and helpful in us finding our way to where we wanted to be

Great location, nice impression as you enter, most staff are friendly and room has lots of space and high ceilings. Good bathroom and room interior, plenty of refreshments. Comfy pillows. Cocktails were good. Liked interior of bar and would be nice to have information about what the building was in it's previous life. Emily was a friendly staff member at breakfast. It looks a lot better to the photo used on booking.com. Would stay again.

Lift terribly slow. No room signs to guide customers where to go. Place seems a bit of maze if you get disoriented. It wasn't a peaceful night, whether it was internal heating system alongside the outside noise, i will probably ask for the quiet side. You need your spinach to draw the massive curtains! Was quite warm in room, no way to control heating or get some cool air through. The internal large window did open and hoped the draft would come through. Perhaps wouldn't want to stay here in summer. The breakfast was ok but not amazing and doesn't match the cost, i would probably find a spoons or a cafe nearby. I asked for no mushroom but was the plate. No butter with bread, had to ask for that as well as sauce, staff not forthcoming to ask if you want anything else. The bathroom handle fell off, fortunately had already used bathroom. Would like a small guide with details about what is nearby and also menus for bar in the room as you would expect etc. Some wear and tear and not much attention to lower level of skirting areas in room, no room down either side of bed so if you're a larger person perhaps avoid 102. Plenty of plug sockets, but only one by bedside and was tricky to reach.

I've tried several hotels in Manchester and this is the one I keep coming back to. Characterful building in a very convenient location for the station and for the bars and restaurants of the Northern Quarter.

I didn't seem to be able to turn down the heating in my room.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is very central, which made everything super convenient, especially being just a 4-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly station. There are also plenty of cafes, restaurants, and bars right around the corner. The staff were friendly, approachable, and easy to communicate with, which made the experience even better. The room was clean, and the bed and sheets were incredibly comfortable—I honestly slept like I was on clouds. I didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. Late check-in was available, which was also a big plus.

The only downside for me was the price—it felt a little costly for what you get. That said, I understand this seems to be quite common in Manchester overall.

the room itself was fine but the bed was very, very low to the ground and very limited room especially on one side of the bed by the window wall had to more or less shuffle along the bed. We came back for food in the afternoon my wife is Gluten Free so more limited options as normal she ordered the shredded duck salad but no duck, she then ordered ham hock salad but, no ham hock. only salad option was caesar salad but obviously could not have the croutons so asked for chicken with it so basically got a bed of salad leaves with some chicken on top. Finally we then had to wait quite a while for our meals as we were told that the chicken had not been prepared by the earlier chef. I had the club sandwich so also waited for the chicken. Very disapointing

A really great hotel in an ideal location. Good sized twin room with an excellent breakfast. Location was easy to get to with parking just behind the hotel. Would definitely use again if visiting Manchester,

Great location. Outside car parking available less than 5 minutes walk away at a discounted price. Beautiful old building with modern amenities. You get what you pay for but I’d definitely stay here again.

Staff were not very attentive especially in the restaurant both a meal in the afternoon and breakfast. We had to keep asking for butter sauces cutlery and table to be cleared but the actual food was very nice.

We were upgraded to a lovely top floor suite, which was really comfortable, calm and stylish. The hotel itself is just beautiful, with original art nouveau tiles on the stairs. The staff are extremely kind and helpful.

The hotel is waiting for some work to be done... The lift didn't go all the way to the top floor because of a fault, and a tap fell off the bath – but these issues didn't affect our stay at all.

Breakfast very very expensive , The Ivy much cheaper. Only told about dawn to dusk offer / discount when i enquired on check out after seeing a small poster by the lift. This offer should be explained to everyone on check in .

Cold room early evening however maintenance man came with a portable heater which did the trick.

We arrived and was told the room was ready-we’d asked for a high up room as Piccadilly is loud. Went to the room and it wasn’t yet ready-there was still rubbish and bedding left from the last occupants

Great staff! A really friendly and super helpful man (sorry we didn’t get your name!) at the reception gave us great recommendations and upgraded our room! Would definitely stay again next time we are in Manchester.

Building with history, sensitively restored. quiet despite central location, 5 mins walk from station. Clean comfortable and easy booking. Would highly recommend.

Nothing was wrong.

Location is perfect and the special rate for parking in Dale Street was good, the car park itself is very uneven and pot-holey, parking spaces are not marked out so you need to park in rows where you can, if you have a bigger car you might struggle to get into spaces due to narrow-ish rows but we managed it. Staff on reception were lovely and friendly, room ready so we could take it over slightly earlier but they offer to look after luggage if not so you can go off to explore. Room large, comfortable bed and nice to have comfortable sofa and chair. Breakfast was quality ingredients but felt it was a little slow for service and thought we might have been forgotten as we had to catch the eye of the supervisor.

Room was very warm and although a air con fan is supplied (Dyson floor standing), we like to open a window but this is not possible. Would have liked a fridge in the room. The light switch for the overbed lights was behind the headboard on one side and too far away from the bed on the other side so it was a bit awkward when ready for sleep. I think all this needed was dragging the massive bed across more centrally but we didn't want to do this in case we damaged the floor. Breakfast was very nice, a little overcooked. This is the only hotel we have stayed in that doesn't offer a self service continental breakfast while waiting for the cooked food to arrive, didn't feel that we could order more than 1 option off the menu when we had a B&B rate.

hotel looks tired and needs a refurb. Check in staff member on my arrival could not have been more helpful and friendly. The room wasn't all that. The air con remote was missing and the iron was damaged but worked. It was room 112.

The hotel just felt a bit cold and I accept that the hotel is a converted old industrial building but the furniture in the communal areas needs a refit. I also did not get the discount rate for the car park on my 2nd day.

Excellent value for money . Beautiful old.building in a great location.. The room was massive. Bed super comfy. Breakfast was really good, table service and good choice. The only little niggle was the water temperature and pressure in the shower. Overall for what we paid would definitely recommend and stay again

Firstly the staff were extremely helpful and made us feel so welcome, we arrived early and didn’t have to wait long at all . Room was really spacious and decorated well with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen , so comfortable . Cleaner was amazing and maintenance guy was fantastic . Morning reception guy was very helpful . The property itself was beautiful keeping old staircases and tiling etc. the room was lovely and spacious and really liked that there was a Bluetooth speaker as we were going to a concert.

The shower tray filled up fast so had to take a short shower, I’m guessing the plug needs unclogging. It also looked like the ceiling had been fixed up with the wall colour (which we did laugh about) and it was a little uncomfortable sleeping on the window side as the light shone under the short curtains. There was definitely some wear and tear issues that made some parts look a little scruffy, could definitely do with a touch up. These issues didn’t stop us from enjoying the hotel though!

Situated in the heart of Manchester, easy access to trams & shopping. Hotel has many original features that I love, particularly the staircase. Room was really large & spacious with additional sofas & chairs. The bed was x x extra large, it was really comfortable, I had a really good night sleep. Staff very friendly & professional.

Soap dispensers, I found it was difficult to push down & receive the soap. Probably in the room that we stayed in, needed a bit of TLC, lick of paint, but I'm being really picky.
