Hotel Monteleone, New Orleans

I liked how all the staff was so polished in their interaction with you.

We recently stayed at Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans. Although our stay started with a small issue, it quickly turned into an excellent experience thanks to exceptional service. We originally booked a two double-bed room in the older, non-renovated tower. The room had a noticeable odor, likely related to the age of the building, which made it difficult for us to rest comfortably. We spoke with the front desk, where Sakty assisted us with great professionalism and kindness. He immediately understood the situation and, without any additional charge, upgraded us to a fully renovated room in the new tower — a spacious, modern king suite that was clean, comfortable, and beautifully updated. This experience truly showed Hotel Monteleone’s commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction. Being a historic hotel, minor issues can happen, but the way they are handled makes all the difference. Thanks to Sakti’s care and responsiveness, our stay became memorable for all the right reasons. We would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel.

Gorgeous decor and the staff from the doorman to reception were super welcoming there is no other hotel we would stay at but Monteleone. The environment was super festive and everything was classy, exceeded our expectations. Rooms were beautiful even the most basic was a great choice. The value for the room rate was absolutely worth it because it was theee hotel to stay at. It’s a beautiful gorgeous hotel from the outside and in, the carousel bar and the large lounging area where the jazz band plays is top class, hands down what a great hotel and location!

The beds are the only thing I would suggest to either turn the mattresses around or get new mattresses, or maybe they were just too soft for me

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was impressed from the moment I arrived. The staff were welcoming, professional, and attentive, making the entire experience seamless and comfortable. The room was clean, well-appointed, and provided a relaxing environment after a long day. I would gladly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again in the future. The Christmas decorations and live music created an exceptional festive atmosphere throughout the property. The carousel bar was truly unbelievable and added a unique, memorable highlight to the entire experience.

There was nothing I disliked about my stay. Everything met or exceeded my expectations throughout the visit. The staff, accommodations, and overall atmosphere were consistently positive. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We loved staying at this hotel. The location was perfect for us, close to Bourbon street but not too close. The restaurant and bar were lively and fun. Great music in house and the Carousel bar is a must to visit. Royal street is lined with Antique stores and art galleries and interesting gift stores making it a fun street to peruse before you hit the lively vibe of Bourbon street with its streets full of musicians day and night. You can also take a short walk to the Riverwalk outlets and the Mississippi River The hotel itself has such a charm about it with its history and decor that takes you back in time. The best part is the marvellous staff.

We absolutely love the style and history of hotel Monteleone. It’s the perfect place to stay when visiting New Orleans. We love the beautiful rooftop pool, the fitness center with a view and the carousel bar! Our room has always been so clean and the beds are so comfortable.

The location was great. Staff were very nice.

Some of the areas were not available due to private party’s. As a guest in the hotel I could not use the pool or bar areas at certain times.

Room was clean and adequate. Staff were exceptional including concierge services, doormen & check-in personnel. Everyone was helpful and outgoing. Problems were addressed in a quick and decisive manner.

Beautiful old property with lots of heritage. Fantastic location. Perfect. Quiet room that was comfortable. The onsite restaurant had magnificent food. We are there often. Special feedback to ‘Kenny’ who served us. So lovely friendly and helpful

It was impossible to get a seat at the cocktail bar as it was fully occupied with a line waiting at its opening time of 11am. So discount being able to use this facility.

Dinner fantastic! Carasoul bar amazing! Gift shop coffee each morning. Staff helpful and friendly!

I added some chicken to my meal and it was so tough that I could not chew or swallow it. Had to send it back. The bread service was not worth it.

The history and the vibe.

The carpet right when you walk in is worn out. The room was a bit dated and old looking.

This hotel is one of a kind, all of the staff were incredibly friendly, courteous and helpful at all times. The room was just the right size - cosy and comfortable - good size bathroom Having the pool onsite was an added bonus especially as it was so hot (Sept) We looked for somewhere for breakfast on the first morning but shouldn't have as after that we ate in the hotel - best priced and quality of food anywhere else.

Only 3 negatives 1 - The water pressure for the shower isn't great and the shower head is too small but it is hot and available at all times of the day 2 - there needs to be more shaded area's at the pool area - perhaps some portable umbrella's that can be put up to shield from the heat 3 - there is a metal rim all around the pool which gets soo hot it can burn

Everything was absolutely perfect. If you want to be treated like royalty this is the place for you.

Fantastic location

Gorgeous hotel, with an amazing location in the French Quarter. My friend and I were lucky enough to be upgraded during check in to a room with an incredible view of the Hotel Monteleone sign. The room was spacious, comfortable, the turn down service was appreciated. The walking distance from the hotel to anywhere in the French Quarter is such an easy walk. The rooftop pool was lovely with plenty of loungers, and misting fans to help keep cool outside of the water. The Carousel Lounge within the hotel is stunning, and has phenomenal drinks. We ordered room service for breakfast, and enjoyed the beignets and the Hotel Monteleone Breakfast. If you’re looking for a hotel with style, grace and good food/drink in house, then I would absolutely recommend staying here. The location in the French Quarter can not be beat!

I’ve never had turndown service before, and it was like having your own maid to tidy up your room and get your bed ready with 2 chocolates waiting.

I didn’t want to leave. I’ve stayed at just about all other properties in New Orleans, and without question, this is a top 3 contender. No nonsense found at previous locations.

The location was excellent. Right around the corner from Bourbon St and walking distance to Canal St. Bed was comfortable and the staff were very polite. The restaurant on-site was fantastic.

The late night room service was a bit expensive but the food was nice.

Nice hotel on Royal Street- Pretty quiet street with all the rowdiness of Bourbon St a block away. Just what we wanted. Walking distance to most everything to see and fabulous restaurants/shops.

I loved this hotel. It was everything I hoped for... stylish, elegant with the wonderful atmosphere of yesteryear. The Carousel bar was busy but we did manage to secure a seat for a drink or two as it circled. And it is really convenient for anything in the French Quarter.

The pool was a bit murky and tired but that is a small grumble. Everything else was wonderful.

A Magical Overnight Stay – Wish We Had More Time! We stayed just one night at this stunning hotel estate in New Orleans, and it absolutely exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive – truly some of the best service we’ve ever experienced. The rooms were beautifully appointed, blending charm and elegance with comfort and luxury. Every detail felt thoughtful, and it made for a genuinely relaxing stay. One of the absolute highlights was the famous Carousel Bar – what a gem! It was such a fun and unique experience to sit at the rotating bar, sipping on expertly made cocktails. The vibe was pure New Orleans magic – lively, elegant, and a little whimsical. We also made our way to the rooftop pool terrace, which was equally impressive. The view, the atmosphere, the small bar up there – it was the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing mimosa and soak in the city’s energy. Even though we were only there for a night, everything about this hotel felt ideal. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay. We’ll absolutely be back – next time, for longer!
