we stayed there only overnight. The room was spacious and very close to La Guardia Airport. Nice interiors and nice pillows.

Such a unique hotel! Loved the decor! Super close to subway and just 2 stops from Manhattan.

Wished the restaurant/bar was open.

The location of the property was ideal to get around the city.

The rooms were lacking in the clean area. The bathroom could use a new shower curtain and the toilet did not flush. I also checked the beds and there were stains on the mattress cover.

Staff could of been more welcoming Staff were mainly on phones every time returning to hotel Had to go to 2nd floor to get ice would have been more convenient if had a ice machine on each floor.

The hotel is a very cool concept with so much potential.

Management has not kept up with maintenance of certain things. They do clean but it's selective. Our shower side was covered in mold. Many items are damaged or missing but they once had them - lamps, curtains, rugs, quilt/throws, luggage racks, irons, hair dryers, iron racks, and throw pillows. Planters had all dead flowers. People have destroyed things or taken them. Their restaurant AMA did not survive COVID shut downs. Mattresses need to be replaced. I suggest Classic Brands Mercer 14 in. Clearly this hotel is barely surviving but they have so much potential. They need someone to turn it around.

The rooms are great and I love the location. It's super convenient for going out in Astoria which is what I was interested in.

When it comes to NYC stays, I never enjoy how overpriced everything is.

I truly found no redeeming qualities in this hotel. I cannot think of one thing that I enjoyed about staying here and have never been able to say this about any hotel in 15 years of travel.

The rooms were dirty (ie. Stains on the sheets and mold I the shower) accommodations are horrible. No food on the premises except a vending machine fit for a 1990 hospital ER waiting room. The beds are VERY uncomfortable and the pillows seem like they are made from bags of cotton balls. You will be ATLEAST a 20 min walk from any decent food or anything to do. This location is situated beautifully in the middle of nothing but a 711 gas station, auto body shops and storage units. There is a Hilton down the road that is MUCH better in location and sure to have comfortable beds at least.

Very close to subway to Manhattan. Grocery stores, restaurants, bars, etc nearby. Courtyard for chilling in the sun.

The design is very nice.

No room slippers. Cleaning was not regularly done, you have to request it. Towels were not changed daily. Staff is not approachable.

This is not a 4-star hotel and dont provide services as such. Staff not helpful or efficient. Upon my arrival the toillet flush was deffective and the receptionist asked us to move rooms as no one was at the property to sort this out. We had to repack and move by ourselves. Delivery: the receptionist received the food and do not let me know that it was delivered. after calling the place they said it was delivered 20 min ago. so cold food because she havent done her work. if something is delivered she HAS to ask for who is the delivery. Checkout: the receptionist said late checkout was no longer available as all “offers” was taken and I should have asked before! hello? has anyone told me if i need a late checkout i need to do thr day before? usually it is sorted on the day. that was the worse excuse i have ever been told. not worth the money. find a better place / location for same price.

the downstairs area. it was stylish and funky

the room was described as superior but there was nothing superior about it! promised items such as a coffee maker, slippers etc although when we asked they did give them to us. the room was tiny; there was no room to put our suitcases anywhere so we had to put them in the wardrobe which meant we couldn’t unpack our clothes and put them in there. And it turned out that the room is not cleaned unless you actually ask them to clean it!

Chose because close to subway and airport. The property had a great deal of old charm, Large windows in the rooms gave a nice feel. The open courtyard was comfortable fun and inviting. Spent time in the game room while waiting for our car.

The location was decent, only a 20 minute train to downtown.

I wouldn't describe the room cozy. I understand the aesthetic of being an old paper factory, but it doesn't mean the rooms have to be industrial and sparse. The floor is concrete and the lighting is harsh. It could have been really nice if the interior design was a little more thoughtful, like having a rug, actually having an alarm clock, softer lights, softer bed.

We’ve been guests at Paper Factory Hotel every year since 2015, and at each stay, rooms and services continue to decline.

the room is very spacious and very accessible to the subway

we are 5 in the family and they only give like 4 bottles of water in our 5 days stay and the toiletries are so little…

Excellent location, very close to subway station, very close to Queens and Manhattan. Spotless clean, friendly and helpful personell. Great concept loved the set up.

As there are no carpets (only concrete floors) in the room a pair of sleepers would help.

Because the metro is so close by, you're in Manhattan in a jiffy. I really would stay here again instead of booking an overpriced hotel in Manhattan. If you take the subway, what do the 5 minutes extra matter.

On the pictures there seems to be a bar, but there isn't one currently. So the hotel has everything to be a cool meeting place, but it is absolutely super quiet now. Only expect vending machines.

Great location. Less than 5 minutes walking from a subway station. It's about 15 minutes from La Guardia airport by car.The room and facilities were okay. Good value for money.

The bathroom wasn't clean. The staff wasn't rude, but wasn't friendly either. They were just okay. They do not offer breakfast, although it seems they used to because of its facilities.

Location, very close to subway station. Room, was okay and all the basics were there. Cool old factory building. A lot of potential. Gym was well supplied and the hotel gave good local restaurant advise

For the asked price the service could be better. You had to request for housekeeping for example. No fridge in the room. Also the place has so much potential, but there’s nothing happening. Nice courtyard, big lobby, but no breakfast or drinks are served there. Feels a bit like a remote place. Staff friendly enough, but only when you ask something. I missed pro activeness. Expected more for this price per night

We appreciated the location and the distance to city centre. Easily accessible. All the staff were super helpful and kind. The whole place was giving very urban/ hipsa/ cool vibes. 10/10 👍🏼 Ice machine located on one of the floors was an extra bonus.

There was nothing we didn't like. I would perhaps appreciate room slippers but in the end it was not a big deal as the floors were super clean, actually.

Very good location: - M/R Train subway station a 1 min walk away (15 min journey to Manhattan); - A fair few bars and restaurants a 5 min walk away; - Close enough to the Queensboro Bridge to walk into Manhattan if you want to (which I recommend doing for the experience) - 7/11 round the corner for drinks/snacks Room: - Very clean and had air-con, no complaints with cleanliness at all - Great shower, very spacious

Services within the hotel: - Barebones for a '4-star' location, certainly nothing beyond what I'd expect from a 2-star - From reading other reviews it seems the bar in the lobby never re-opened since the pandemic. The only drinks you can buy within the hotel are from a vending machine on each floor, and you want to avoid American soft drinks at all costs if you value your health - At the very least, a mini-fridge in the room would have been nice to store drinks/snacks bought elsewhere if the hotel is not going to sell any itself. Room: - I had to lift open the back of the toilet and adjust the flapper upon arrival as it was not storing water to flush. Had to fix this a couple of times across my stay - Windows did not keep the noise out very well, found myself waking up a lot from vehicle noise/sirens outside - TV quite small Staff: - Barely interacted with the staff, however the person I checked in with was blunt and seemed inconvenienced by my arrival which was disappointing.

I could hear the next door guest snoring very loud at night. There was a lot of dust piled up in corners & bed sheets have a lot of link that visibly fly up around you when you lay down lol so, beware allergy people. The bathroom sink needed the drain unclogged, very inconvenient for washing hands/face. The toilet, I thought would overflow with just one normal flush, with not even a lot of tissue. The staff is not friendly & don’t have good attitude but that doesn’t matter to me much, I understand the NY attitude but they may rub tourists the wrong way.

Location was great - a few steps from subway to manhattan (and it's only a couple of stops on the express to midtown), and a 10 min or so walk from places to eat / drink. Bed was super comfy (except pillows) and room was a pleasant temp without a/c (I am not an a/c fan). It was surprisingly quiet too - we slept very well.

We struggled to get housekeeping - I asked repeatedly for bins to be emptied, and the only time they were was when I happened to be in the room when housekeeping came. Also the pillows are poor quality and there aren't enough of them!

room was fine - good storage, shower and toilet facilities good location excellent - quite close to centre, and metro at end of the street table tennis , gym and other games were great we needed a few things from the reception and they sorted it immediately - well done., but they could smile a little :)

Excellent location. Comfortable room. Quite hotel, excellent for business travel. Plenty of street parking and a subway entrance across the street.

I wish there was a bit of a coffee place or simple snack buffet at reception as it felt quite empty with a lot of unused space

Very cool, renovated building, clean spacious room & friendly staff. Hotel was easy to drive to with plenty of street parking. Also within walking distance from the event we were attending during our stay.

It's a great value hotel. Large size rooms for NYC standards. Less than one minute to walk to the subway. You can get to mid town in 15 minutes.

This is a very nice hotel with generous and inviting common spaces and interesting historic detail and decor. I really enjoyed our stay there and would certainly return. The surrounding area seemed safe and offered some good options for food. Try Big Apple Eats for breakfast. We easily found street parking a block from the hotel.

Nearby train service was disrupted at night. This is in no way the fault of the hotel, but it does make for a consideration if you are visiting for easy subway access to and from the city at night. During the day, regular service was no problem. It would be nice if the hotel offered fresh coffee in the lobby in place of the individual machines with subpar coffee in each room.

The room was spacious and creatively designed and it was quiet. Temperature in the room was ok for an overnight stay (someone mentioned a comment about this and I did g have the issue but also visited on a mild spring evening).

Although the beds were a little firm for me, I actually slept very deeply and didn’t have any issues because of it.

The hotel itself was really nice (industrial style) 24/7 reception Close to a 7/11, restaurants/bars and Subway.

You have to ask to clean your room Our deposit was not released after check-out. We are still waiting for it (3 weeks later) Queensize US is small for Belgians 😁

LOVE the aesthetic of this place. My Queen room was perfectly sized for my solo, short stay; and I loved the big windows. The community areas available for working/reading/hanging out were also great! Shower had plenty of hot water. I saw some complaints about the bed, but I have none. It's not the Westin, but it's not the Red Roof Inn.

The immediate area has very little food/drink options; there is a bit of sound bleed (which is to be expected in an older NYC building); and the TVs are very small. Other than those very small complaints - great spot!

Hotel is quirky and a bit different to the norm. Price was good for NYC and wasn’t hard to get to centre on the subway. Games room was good.

No bar/restaurant/café in hotel. Not much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel in terms of eating/drinking.

Metro station very close by, also good connection to the JFK airport.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond when we asked for an ice bucket. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The shower was nice. Overall, a great experience. Rec room was fun. Thank You.
